Captain America Civil War Characters To Return In Falcon And Winter Soldier Series

It looks like Marvel Studios is going full steam ahead with its upcoming post-Avengers Endgame Disney Plus plans, with multiple ambitious exclusive shows set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). According to Deadline, two characters last seen in 2016’s Captain America Civil War will be returning in the Falcon and Winter Soldier series.
Daniel Bruhl and Emily Van Camp are in talks to reprise their roles as the villain (Baron) Zemo and Sharon Carter AKA Agent 13 (AKA Peggy Carter’s niece), respectively. You might remember that at the end of Captain America Civil War, Zemo was still alive but arrested, while Sharon’s current whereabouts in the MCU remain unknown.
Other details revealed about the Falcon and Winter Soldier series include a possible release date sometime in 2020, and that it will be a six-part miniseries helmed by director Kari Skogland. She is best known for directing episodes from various TV series, including the likes of The Handmaid’s Tale, Netflix’s The Punisher, Vikings and more.
We still haven’t received any details on what the plot for Falcon and Winter Soldier might entail, but it will highly likely focus on Sam Wilson (Falcon) inheriting the mantle and shield of Captain America, with Bucky (Winter Soldier) there to support him or challenge him (well, he was the first person to be Captain America after Steve in the comics).
In the meantime, head on over here for the latest details and information on Disney Plus.
