Pokémon Go Detective Pikachu Crossover Event Starts Today

To celebrate the upcoming release of Detective Pikachu on 9 May 2019, Pokémon Go players can take part in the special commemorative crossover event starting from today on 7 May until 17 May 2019. There’s a lot of content in store for fans.

Here’s what you can expect from the Pokémon Go Detective Pikachu crossover event:

  • Increased encounters with Pokémon seen in the movie such as Pikachu, Aipom, Snorlax, Cubone, and more.
  • The chance to get photobombed by Detective Pikachu himself who will appear in Pokémon Go‘s Snapshot mode
  • Special Raid Battles featuring Pokémon seen in the movie
  • Special Field Research events
  • Limited edition cosmetic items for players’ Avatars, including a detective hat with Pikachu ears
  • A higher chance of encountering a Shiny Aipom
  • Double XP for all Pokémon caught
