League of Legends Now Has 8 Million Concurrent Users

League of Legends is going to be 10 years old next month and is showing no signs of slowing down. After all, this is a game that got away with a K-pop video featuring its popular female cast.

How big is it now? Riot Games recently announced the game’s massive player count milestone: a daily peak of 8 million concurrent players. Basically, 8 million people are regularly playing this game every. Single. Day.

“Every day we see about 8 million peak concurrent players in League.” Riot Games state that this number covers players all across Riot, Tencent, and Garena’s regions. It also said that these numbers are “bigger than the top ten games on Steam combined”.

Most triple-A games wished it had those numbers. Except for Epic though; Fortnite is still at 10.8 million concurrent daily players at the moment. And China’s CrossFire: that game has 8 million concurrent players as we speak.

Riot Games is planning something special on 15th October. Will the company be announcing a side project, like oh say a card game or a fighting game? We’ll find out soon enough.
