A Quiet Place 2 Reveals A Threat Beyond Aliens

2018’s A Quiet Place was one of the biggest science fiction movie surprises in recent years, due to its focus on sound, or rather the lack of it. The story of a family forced to live in a post-apocalyptic world populated by alien monsters who hunt by detecting sound.

Paramount Pictures has unveiled the very first trailer for A Quiet Place 2, with director John Krasinski returning to helm the sequel. The upcoming movie will pick up shortly after the first, as the Abbott family ventures out into the world after the death of their father (Krasinski) and discovering that high-frequency noises are the aliens’ weakness.

Emily Blunt reprises her role as Evelyn Abbott, with Millicent Simonds as daughter Regan and Noah Jape as son Marcus. Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy) join the cast as other human survivors who may or may not be friends.

Murphy’s character even says to Blunt’s in the trailer: “The people that are left are not the kind of people worth saving.”, implying that there could be threats more native and closer to home than just alien monsters out there.

A Quiet Place 2 is slated to premiere on 20 March 2020. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
