Death Stranding Sales Are A “Success”: Hideo Kojima
It looks like Kojima Productions and its leader Hideo Kojima’s gamble with the weird and divisive has paid off.
The company’s sole title, Death Stranding, is considered a success. Here’s what Kojima had to say about the recent windfall in a Livedoor News interview(via Siliconera).
“We’ve already crossed the line where we’re not losing any money and, including the return of development costs, it’s a figure that I can say is a “success”. We’ll be releasing the PC version of Death Stranding going forward, and we’ve secured as much profit as possible in preparation for what’s next, so don’t worry.”
When asked what’s next for Kojima Productions, he said that there are a lot of things moving under the surface despite his ideas being in the proposal stage. “However, quite recently a large game proposal of mine was rejected, so I’m feeling a bit annoyed. (laughs) Well, it’s something that happens often in this industry”.
He also debunked the MGS and P.T. rights-buying rumour. “Ah yeah, those are completely fake. At the very least, I haven’t heard of this at all. (laughs).”
Guess we’ll be seeing more from Kojima Productions in the next few years. Death Stranding will be out on PC this year. If you want to find out more about the game, check out our glowing review here.
