Epic Games Acquires Fall Guys Developer Mediatonic

Epic Games has announced that they have acquired Tonic Games Group, the parent company of Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout developer Mediatonic.

How will this affect Fall Guys moving forward? According to a FAQ published by Mediatonic, the gameplay of Fall Guys isn’t changing and they will continue to expand each season of the game with new content, features, rounds, and costumes.

Don’t worry, the game is still slated to launch on Nintendo Switch and Xbox platforms in the future.

Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout will also remain purchasable on Steam and PlayStation. If you own the game on these platforms, you’ll still be able to play it from there and will receive future updates.

Besides that, the developer also revealed that they’re currently working on introducing account systems, cross-play, squad vs squad modes, and more into Fall Guys as well, especially now that they have more resources to work with.

Epic Games has also confirmed that Fall Guys will be coming to the Epic Game Store. However, there is no release date or window as of yet.

In a statement, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said:

“It’s no secret that Epic is invested in building the metaverse and Tonic Games shares this goal.

As Epic works to build this virtual future, we need great creative talent who know how to build powerful games, content and experiences.”
