Talks About A Fallout New Vegas Sequel Are Happening
It’s still too soon, but Fallout New Vegas 2 could be a possibility as developers Obsidian are in “very early talks†with Microsoft according to a journalist.
Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat spoke on his premium Giant Bomb show Grubbsnax, claiming that original developer Obsidian could create a sequel to the cult classic RPG, now that it’s under the same roof as license holder Bethesda.
Grubb states that it’s currently still too early to confirm, but mutterings of Obsidian and “Fallout New Vegas 2†have been whispered about in the same sentence. He added that we’re still years away from anything concrete but there’s an interest at least and conversations are being held which could lead into something actually a reality.
“A lot of people at Microsoft think that this could work and there’s a lot of interest to make it happen.â€
Microsoft acquired Obsidian in 2018 and then moved on to absorb ZeniMax Media, parent company of Bethesda Softworks in 2021. With all the ruckus between Microsoft and Sony having a contest to see who can buy the most companies, a return to the Mojave Wasteland could be just the thing to give Microsoft the leg up.
You can’t truly call yourself an RPG fan unless you’ve played Fallout New Vegas, so maybe now is as best a time to pick it up. In other Fallout news, did you know a TV series is in the works?
