Creator Of Coffee Talk, What Comes After, & Afterlove EP Has Passed Away (Update)

Update (31/3/2022): Toge Productions has revealed that Mohammad Fahmi Hasni’s cause of death was from an asthma attack. The company has also started a fundraising initiative for Fahmi’s family through Coffee Talk. The game will be discounted for 32% from 31st March until 4th April. All proceeds from this period will be given to Fahmi’s family.

You can buy the game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/914800/Coffee_Talk/

Original story:

The Southeast video game community mourns the sudden passing of Indonesian game developer Mohammad Fahmi. He was 32.

Fahmi was known for creating hit Indonesian adventure game Coffee Talk, What Comes After, and the upcoming Afterlove EP. Both Coffee Talk and What Comes After have been received very positively on PC and other platforms, with many reviews citing how the former makes players feel comfortable and relaxing, and the latter touching upon how people should love themselves.

Fahmi was also renowned for being one of the brightest stars from Indonesia and the Southeast Asian indie game-developing region according to a number of developers in the region, particularly with those who met up with him in Malaysia’s Level Up KL game developer event.

“May you be remembered always Fahmi. One of the brightest stars from Indonesia and the region. May you inspire others with your journey. Rest well my friend. Al-Fatihah.” – Hasnul Hadi, PlayStation Studios Malaysia lead.

“Fahmi is a visionary game designer and great storyteller, and he is a good friend. Rest in peace, Fahmi.” – Kris Antoni, Toge Productions

“Wherever you are now, I hope you’re at peace, Fahmi. We lost one of the good ones today.” – Vladislav Tsypljak, Co-Founder & CCO of Neon Doctrine.

“Fahmi was the first person who approached me for a gamedev interview when we just started Mojiken. Somehow, he believed in my art more than I believed in myself and he kept finding the right words to compile the absurdity of it all.

I’ve drawn some artwork for him and it surprised me that I still want to draw more of his crazy stories while chatting on how his days are going like we used to. I bet he will find some cool game devs, writers and illustrators up there and fanboying hard while keeps on writing. Fahmi would always find me hiding during events, and we would talk a lot about everything. We promised to eat out once the pandemic settled.” -Brigitta Rerna (via IGN)

Kakuchopurei would like to express its condolences to Fahmi’s family and loved ones. May he rest in peace.
