The Folks Behind The Awesome Lodoss War Game Last Year Has Launched A New 2D Shmup

Last year’s Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth won critics over with its lovely 2D art style and search action Metroidvania style gameplay. It was a tad short, but it was still highly entertaining, at least in my perspective.

So it’s great to know that its developer, Team Ladybug, has announced a new promising game. It’s a 2D shmup called Drainus and it’s about as 2D sci-fi-filled as you can get with the side-scrolling genre. It’s action-packed, looks slick, and features the kind of polish you expect from Team Ladybug. The game’s key feature include the Reflector mechanic, where your spaceship can absorb enemy shots and launch its own salvo of counterattacks. You can also use those absorbed shots as energy to enhance your ship parts and power-ups. Check out the gameplay below.
