Ubisoft Narrows Down Release Windows For Singapore-Made Game Skull & Bones, And Mario + Rabbids 2

Ubisoft has provided an update on its game releases for its current fiscal year report ending on 31 March, 2022. Yes, it includes the “stuck in development hell” pirate game Skull & Bones.

The elusive Singapore government-funded game that’s causing Ubisoft a bit of internal headache will be out before the end of its current fiscal year ending on 31 March, 2023. Other games slated to come out before that month next year include Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Chief corporate finance officer Frederick Duguet said on Ubisoft’s earnings call that the three games will be out after 1st October 2022, which is the second half of the fiscal year.

Since Mario + Rabbids 2 and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora have a 2022 release date, they should arrive in the last three months of 2022. Skull & Bones? The game may be out between 2nd October 2022 to 30th March 2023, so it’s anyone’s guess. Here’s an excerpt from the call (via Video Games Chronicles)

“Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is coming on [the back of] the movie that we expect will be one of the biggest movies of the year, probably of the next few years, so we are confident that it’s going to be a big title,” Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said during the company’s earnings call. On Skull & Bones, we have been working quite hard on that product so we plan to really bring something fresh to the market.”

When it comes to the pirate game, we’ll believe it when we see it.
