Star Wars Andor Series Delayed Almost One Month Later

Disney+ Hotstar has announced that the Star Wars series Andor has been delayed almost a whole month later from its original release date of 31 August 2022. Andor will now premiere on 21 September 2022 with its first three episodes.

The Andor series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly (who will portray a young Mon Mothma), Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is the creator and showrunner.

Season 1 will consist of 12 episodes, taking place five years before the events of Rogue One A Star Wars Story. Season 2 will consist of 12 episodes as well, which will cover the remaining four years before Rogue One. According to Gilroy, the final scene of the series will directly lead into the events of Rogue One.
