River City Girls 2 Marian Trailer Confirms Her Double Dragon Origins

WayForward just released new gameplay for River City Girls 2, spotlighting on new character Marian.

Well, “kinda” new, since she’s THE same Marian in Double Dragon lore, former damsel in distress. The video below explains that she’s been working out on her own while waiting to be rescued by her “close friends” Billy and Jimmy Lee while they’re fighting ninjas in temples and robots in underground labs.

Her fighting style is a mix of grapples and boxing techniques; it’s light on combos but heavy on damage and also has giant swings in the mix. She also loves flaunting her abs of steel which is a byproduct of being punched in the gut too many times; a clear reference to her intro in the first Double Dragon game in 1987.
