Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Will Be The Biggest Switch Game To Date
The first-party Nintendo Switch game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, boasts the largest file size of any Nintendo Switch game to date.
According to Reddit user bob4978135, the Japanese eShop entry for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom displays a file size of 18.2GB. This information is confirmed on the US Nintendo site and listed as 18,637MB on the UK Nintendo site.
The size of this game surpasses that of Nintendo’s current largest game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which has a file size of 14.4GB.
For comparison, other notable Nintendo Switch games have a smaller file size, including Xenoblade Chronicles 3 at 14GB, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition at 13.7GB, Fire Emblem Engage at 13.4GB, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 at 13.2GB.
It is important to note that while The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the largest first-party Nintendo game, it is not the largest game available on the Switch. Third-party games such as NBA 2K23 (53.7GB), Mortal Kombat 11 (32.5GB), and The Witcher 3: Complete Edition (31.5GB) are much larger in terms of file size.
Earlier this week, Nintendo released a new gameplay trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, showcasing the game’s features.
