Peaky Blinders Creator Steven Knight Is Writing A New Star Wars Movie

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight will write the screenplay for the new untitled “Star Wars” movie that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is set to direct following the departure of original screenwriters Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson (via Variety).

Besides Peaky Blinders, Knight has also worked on crime dramas like 2002’s Dirty Pretty Things and 2007’s Eastern Promises, as well as dramas like 2014’s The Hundred-Foot Journey, war thrillers like 2016’s Allied”, and biopics like 2021’s Spencer.

The movie is widely expected to be one of Lucasfilm’s first Star Wars films since 2019’s Star Wars Episode IX The Rise Of Skywalker. More details and information about the movie are expected to be announced at the Star Wars Celebration in London in April (more on that here).
