Final Fantasy 16 Sales Surpass 3 Million Units Worldwide

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy 16 has sold more than 3 million units worldwide in less than a week since it launched exclusively for the PS5 on 22 June 2023.

Final Fantasy 16 is the latest entry in the long-running JRPG franchise and the first to feature full real-time action-heavy combat. It is set in the fictional world of Valisthea, a world divided between six nations that hold power through access to magical Crystals and Dominants, humans who act as hosts for each nation’s Eikon. Tensions between the nations escalate as a malady dubbed the Blight begins consuming the land. Clive Rosfield, a guardian to his younger brother Joshua, witnesses his kingdom destroyed and goes on a revenge quest in pursuit of the dark Eikon Ifrit.
