Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse Swings To Sony Pictures Animation’s Biggest Opening Weekend Of All Time

The global opening weekend box office revenue for Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse is a total of a whopping US$208.6 million. This marks a record-breaking opening weekend for a Sony Pictures Animated film.

According to Deadline, the US domestic box office is US$120.5 million while internationally, it managed to garner US88.1 million. Currently, there are 59 markets open with Japan and Korea to follow later in June 2023. Internationally, China led with US$17.3 million, Mexico with US$11.6 million, followed by the UK at US$11.5 million.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse is now showing in Malaysian cinemas on 1 June 2023. The sequel to Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse, Spider-Man Beyond The Spider-Verse, will premiere in March 2024, which is less than a year from now.
