Classic Shmup Radiant Silvergun Is Coming To PC This August
Publisher and developer Live Wire and developer Treasure have announced that the classic shoot ’em up game Radiant Silvergun is slated to launch for PC on August 2023.
Originally launched in arcades in Japan on 28 May 1998, followed by a release on the Sega Saturn on 23 July 1998. Afterwards, it was released in the West for the first time on the Xbox 360 on 14 September 2011, and on the Nintendo Switch on 13 September 2022.

Radiant Silvergun promises an enjoyable gaming experience for fans of the genre with its strategic gameplay, stunning visuals, and immersive soundtrack. Moreover, it also includes a story mode with a strong message, sound by the renowned Japanese composer, Hitoshi Sakimoto and an online ranking system to compete with players around the world. The PC version will boast several other features – including slip-screen cooperative play, Steam achievements, full controller support, and Steam leaderboard implementation.
The game takes place on 14 July 2520 AD, following the discovery of an excavated “stone-like object”, which threatens humanity. However, a space cruiser helmed by four crew members and a robonoid manages to escape. Just a year later, the team is forced to re-enter the atmosphere to battle for survival as their supplies gradually run out.
Players can anticipate 23 boss battles across six stages, weapons that level up depending on the achieved score, and secret bonuses when defeating enemies in specific orders. In order to play the game on a PC, it requires a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard.
Radiant Silvergun is set to launch on PC via Steam on 18 August 2023.
