Rockstar Co-founder Dan Houser’s Studio Announces First Two Projects
Rockstar’s Co-Founder, Dan Houser has announced his debut projects for his new transmedia company, Absurd Ventures. Both projects will launch in 2024 featuring its first two “universes”, American Caper which will begin as a graphic novel and A Better Paradise, which is an audio fiction series. Simon Bisley the comic book artist will illustrate American Caper.
“American Caper centers on two normal, badly-damaged American families in a world of corrupt business, inept politics and bungling crime,”
A Better Paradise will be a 12-episode series and is characterized as “an existential suspense thriller, set in the near future.” This series is in collaboration with QCODE Media for co-production.

Dan Houser left Rockstar in early 2020 which he co-founded Rockstar in 1998 with his brother Sam, Jamie King and Terry Donovan. He played a pivotal role in shaping the success of numerous titles within the company, being the author or co-author of nearly all the games in the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption series, along with Bully and Max Payne 3. Recently, it was revealed that Lazlow Jones and Michael Unsworth, both seasoned veterans from Rockstar, are collaborating with Houser at Absurd Ventures.

As per its website, the company engages in the development of games, film and TV productions, animated series, and audio fiction, as well as the creation of comics and graphic novels.
