Marvel Officially Fires Jonathan Majors, Kang No More

Earlier today, actor Jonathan Majors was found guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment by a New York court and jury. Official sentencing is set for 6 February 2024. Only several hours after that verdict, Marvel Studios has already decided to officially fire Jonathan Majors (via The Hollywood Reporter).

However, Marvel Studios has yet to announce what they’re going to do after firing Jonathan Majors. It will probably be one of two things. First, recast the role of Kang The Conqueror with someone else. There are lots of potential actors out there. The other course of action is more drastic and that’s to cancel Kang Dynasty plans and rewrite the future of the MCU, which takes a lot more time and effort to implement.

We’ll have to wait and see but the official announcement will likely come after Christmas and New Years, considering that it’s currently the holiday season.

Majors originally faced four charges of assault, aggravated harassment and harassment on 25 March 2023, two of which he is now ultimately found to be guilty of, against his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. He could be facing a sentence of 1 year in prison or probation. 2023 has been a big year for Jonathan Majors, who starred as Kang The Conqueror in Ant-Man And The Wasp Quantumania and a variant of the character in Loki Season 2, as well as the main antagonist in Creed 3.
