New RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio Gets Royal Gameplay Trailer & Release Window

The upcoming Sega and Atlus RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio is looking slick, given the recent trailer it’s showcasing.

Revealed during The Game Awards 2023, the new Metaphor trailer shows off gameplay and how combat is sorted. It looks like a mix between real-time action and squad-based turn-based combat like your Persona games of old. Only with high fantasy concepts and ideals realized in a slick presentation and UI transitions that oozes style.

The trailer also has names for the companions and people you meet, like thief Heismay, warrior Strohl, magician Junah, and little girl Maria.

Your main character gains access to an ability called Synthesis, where you and your team combine and turn into a badass mecha knight and deal more damage in armoured form. We’ll find out more about this later.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is coming out for PC and Xbox Series in Fall 2024.
