Godzilla Minus One Gets A Streaming Release Date, Stomping Onto Prime Video Japan Next Month

Godzilla Minus One fans, your wait might be over soon.

Prime Video Japan has announced (via Twitter) that Godzilla Minus One will premiere on 3 May 2024.

However, at the time of writing, it’s currently unclear if Godzilla Minus One will also premiere on Prime Video in other countries at the same time, such as Prime Video Malaysia.

Godzilla Minus One originally premiered in Japan on 3 November 2023 and in the US on 1 December 2023, but it hasn’t been released in Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries. There have been many rumours and much speculation on the matter, but earlier this year, local Malaysian cinema chain GSC Cinemas confirmed the reason why Godzilla Minus One hasn’t been released in Malaysia and the rest of Southeast Asia.

Godzilla Minus One is the 30th live-action film in Toho’s long-running kaiju franchise after 2016’s Shin Godzilla. It is notable for being the first Godzilla movie in history to win an Oscar; it won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards in March 2024.
