Star Wars Outlaws Will Not Have This Hated Ubisoft Open-World Mechanic
Star Wars Outlaws is a Ubisoft game, so it will probably be just like any other conventional or typical open-world game by the developer/publisher, right?
Wrong.
One hated Ubisoft open-world mechanic won’t be in Star Wars Outlaws and that’s the towers to open up the map. That’s a pleasant surprise, considering that even other open-world games like 2024’s Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Rise Of The Ronin had their own versions of this tower mechanic.
After having an interview with Star Wars Outlaws creative director Julian Gerighty, GameInformer journalist Brian Shea said (via Twitter):

Apparently, players in Star Wars Outlaws will open up the open-world map by simply exploring it naturally. This is good news for Ubisoft fans who are tired of some of the outdated mechanics from the company’s earlier games.
Star Wars Outlaws is described as the first-ever open-world Star Wars game, set between the events of Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI Return of the Jedi. Players will assume the role of Kay Vess, an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. It’s slated to release for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on 30 August 2024.
