The Makers Of Dead Cells Are Releasing A New Prince Of Persia Game
Evil Empire, the developers behind the critically-acclaimed roguelike 2D action title Dead Cells, are hard at work on a new Ubisoft game.
According to sources at Insider Gaming, the developer and Ubisoft are going to release the next Prince of Persia game later this year on Steam. The game is called The Rogue Prince of Persia and it will launch in Early Access. This marks the first time Ubisoft releases a Steam game on day one since 2019; they’ve been releasing games on their Ubisoft Connect platform since.
The upcoming 2D action game, which may be a Metroidvania roguelike hybrid that Evil Empire is known for, will feature an art style inspired by Franco-Belgian comics (bandes dessinées) like Tintin, Asterix, and Lucky Luke. No word on when the game will be officially announced though, but it’s great to be in a year and timeline where two Prince of Persia games exist.
