In the midst of the 2024 Warhammer Skulls digital event, Owlcat Games has officially announced Void Shadows, the first paid DLC for their acclaimed CRPG, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader.

Void Shadows promises to deliver around 15 hours of fresh content, seamlessly woven into the main storyline of Rogue Trader. This expansion invites players to delve deeper into their voidship, confronting a new, insidious threat that jeopardises their vessel.

Release Date & Features

Set to launch on 8 August, Void Shadows introduces new quests and two unique archetypes for the Lord Captain, enriching gameplay with fresh abilities. The DLC also deepens the game’s lore and expands the companion roster with Kibellah, a Death Cult Assassin loyal to the von Valancius dynasty, who can also become a potential romance option for the Lord Captain.

Players will encounter high-level officers vital for maintaining the voidship and driving the narrative forward. The main antagonist, the Genestealer Cult, is described as “a horrific breed of xenos who work from the shadows, infecting your crew with their genetic code to convert them and twist their loyalties.”

Furthermore, the DLC allows players to add a new hangar to their voidship, incorporating fighters and bombers into the game’s space battles.
