Capcom Celebrates Street Fighter 6 Anniversary With Crazy Ken, Cammy, & Drive Impact Stats
It’s been a year since 2D fighting game Street Fighter 6 has been out. As said in our review last year, it’s arguably the best 2D fighting game out right there, with the game still going very, VERY strong with its updates and Season 1 DLC additions.
Naturally, Capcom has toot its own horn to bring up stats of its landmark fighting game that record all data from its 2nd June 2023 release up until 30th April of 2024. Among all the stats listed here -from 6 million online battles daily to 174 million hours of playtime, here are our favourite highlights:
- The top three characters used in online matches are: Ken, Ryu, and Cammy. As I’ve said numerous times, this version of Ken is the best one since Street Fighter 3: Third Strike due to the game’s new offense-based system, his new goddamn Dragonlash Kick, and many ways to convert to damage from any possible scenario.
- The number of Perfect Parries done in matches are 350 million, while the number of Counter Drive Impacts are 363 million.
- 75.6% of the player base worldwide prefers using Classic controls, while 24.1% use Modern controls. It’s interesting that they’ve used Zangief as part of this infographic, as he’s the go-to player for Modern controls mode (next to Lily). 1-button Spinning Pile Driver is still godlike, especially with Season 2 Zangief.
- It takes a player an average of 32.3 hours to beat World Tour Story Mode (credits, etc.). The amount of Refridgerators destroyed are 1.15 million. Keep the fridge genocide coming, folks!
- Speaking of World Tour Mode, the top 3 Masters people love to max bond level with are: Cammy, Chun-Li, and Juri. I don’t use Cammy often, and I ended up maxing out my bond with her just to see her heartfelt scenes with her ex-Doll comrades like Juni and Decapre.
- The 1st on the men’s side is Ken.
- The most popular Master Actions are Spinning Bird Kick (Chun-Li), Rising Uppercut (Luke), and Phalanx (Marisa). The first one lets you cross pits and gaps easily, so it’s the obvious pick.
Congratulations on making amends from your botched Street Fighter 5 release, Capcom. You can check the full website with the Street Fighter 6 stats here.
