DC Comics’ Creature Commandos MAX Series Announced

Because DC Studios and James Gunn aren’t sick of the Suicide Squad schtick, we’re getting a creature feature squad.

Subscription service MAX and DC Studios have announced Creature Commandos, which is what happens when CADMUS’ Amanda Waller and her right hand Rick Flagg recruit and command monsters instead of convicts for their next Task Force squad.

The Creature Commandos are The Bride, Doctor Phosphorus, Weasel, G.I Robot, Nina Mazursky (the Creature from the Black Lagoon), and Eric Frankenstein; they’re dubbed as Task Force M in a world where the government stopped all human-involved Task Force activities. Here’s the list of voice actors for the show:

• Viola Davis as Amanda Waller
• Sean Gunn as G.I Robot and Weasel
• Alan Tudyk as Doctor Phosphorus
• Indira Varma as The Bride
• David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein
• Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr.

Leave it to James Gunn and the new DC crew to take a bunch of characters nobody cares about and make a potentially entertaining feature out of it. This being a MAX series, the show will most likely be out on HBO GO and other services with ties to HBO and Warner Bros. Creature Commandos will be out in December for selected streaming services.
