Star Trek Section 31 Movie Starring Michelle Yeoh Unveils Epic First Trailer

At San Diego Comic-Con 2024 (SDCC 2024), Paramount Plus unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming Star Trek Section 31 movie.

It was also revealed at Comic-Con that Miku Martineau (Honor Society) will play young Philippa in the movie. The rest of the cast includes Omari Hardwick (Power), Kacey Rahl (Hannibal), Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso), Sven Ruygrok (One Piece), Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia) and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry).

It was previously meant to be a series when it was announced back in 2019.

Michelle Yeoh will return to her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou, a character she first played in Star Trek Discovery. In Star Trek Section 31, Emperor Philippa Georgiou joins a secret division of Starfleet tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets and faces the sins of her past.

Back in March 2023, Yeoh made history by becoming the first Malaysian (and Asian woman) to win an Oscar or Academy Award. She won the Best Actress award for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once at the 95th Academy Awards, or Oscars 2023.

Star Trek Section 31 will premiere on Paramount Plus sometime in 2025.
