Zelda-Inspired Metroidvania Crypt Custodian Sets Its Paws for August Release
Top Hat Studios and developer Kyle Thompson have announced the release date for Crypt Custodian, a Zelda-inspired Metroidvania game centred around a cat in the afterlife.

In Crypt Custodian, players assume the role of Pluto, a mischievous black cat who, after passing away, encounters Kendra, the Afterlife Guardian at the grand palace. However, things take a turn for the worse, leading to Pluto’s banishment from the palace and eternal punishment to clean up the afterlife. The game offers a vast landscape filled with secrets, where players can interact with quirky ghosts, learn about their pasts, and visit The Sinner’s Inn to upgrade their gear.
Throughout the journey, players will wield a magic broomstick, unlock new abilities, and solve puzzles to navigate the charming and whimsical world. Customize your play style by mix-and-matching your upgrades, and use the abilities you collect to expand your world. The game also offers customization options to mix and match upgrades, as well as the use of collected abilities to expand the game’s world.
Crypt Custodian is scheduled to release on 27 August 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
