Murai In Love Premieres Exclusively On Disney+ Hotstar Early September

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of the award-winning manga, “Murai in Love,” is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar on 4 September.

The series, set in contemporary Japan, follows the comedic and bold attempts of a high school sophomore, Murai, as he tries to win the affection of his homeroom teacher, Ayano Tanaka. Upon discovering that Tanaka is enamoured with a character from a popular video game, Murai decides to transform himself to resemble this character, leading to a series of humorous and unexpected events.

The anime boasts a talented voice cast, including Kengo Takanashi as Murai, Yoko Hikasa as Ayano Tanaka, and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hitotose. The series is directed by Yoshiki Yamakawa (known for Little Busters! and Hi Score Girl), with Susumu Yamakawa overseeing the scriptwriting. Ruka Kawada provides the musical score, while Jin Aketagawa handles sound direction.

The original manga, created by Junta Shima, began serialization on the Line Manga service in June 2018 under KADOKAWA’s Gene Line label and concluded in June 2022, with seven volumes released. The story inspired a live-action series that aired on TBS in 2022.

Fans can look forward to a delightful blend of romance and comedy when “Murai in Love” makes its anime debut next month.
