The Until Dawn Remake Gets Definitive October Release Date

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Ballistic Moon have announced that the Until Dawn remake/remaster will launch for the PS5 and PC on 4 October 2024.

According to PlayStation Blog, the Until Dawn remake/remaster is powered by Unreal Engine 5, featuring new character models, a new prologue and new collectibles.

The timing is certainly auspicious, considering that a movie version of Until Dawn is also in the works and will be helmed by director David F. Sandberg, best known for directing both Shazam! movies (2019’s Shazam! and 2023’s Shazam! Fury Of The Gods) and several horror movies including 2016’s Lights Out and 2017’s Annabelle Creation.

Until Dawn was originally released in 2015 for the PS4 and it’s an interactive horror video game by developer Supermassive Games that follows eight friends and frenemies who are brought together on a remote mountain retreat. With live-or-die scenarios featuring a mysterious killer, cannibalistic wendigos, a cable car, and a long-ago mining cave-in that reverberates into the present day, the members of the group must fight through their fear if they all hope to make it through the night in one piece.
