Hades 2’s Major Update Brings New Pets & a Jetpack

After a thrilling five months in early access, Hades 2—the sequel to Supergiant Games’ hit 2020 roguelike—has just dropped its first major content update: the Olympic Update! This update is packed with new features, including a brand-new region, weapon, and so much more to discover.

The Olympic Update goes beyond the previous smaller tweaks, introducing an exhilarating new boss battle and an incredible new weapon for our protagonist Melinoe to wield against the time-bending forces of Chronos.

But that’s not all! This update also adds two adorable animal familiars—a bird and a dog (yes, you can pet it!). Players can now earn boons from beloved deities Athena and Dionysus, who fans will remember from the original Hades.

Here’s a glimpse at some of the standout features in this exciting patch:

  • An entirely new region for the second half of the game (no spoilers here!)
  • The extraordinary new jetpack weapon, the Black Coat.
  • A charming option to decorate the Crossroads.
  • Fresh characters and tons of brand-new dialogue to uncover.
  • Delightful new animal familiars to accompany you.
  • A bounty of new music to elevate your journey.
  • The ability to save your Arcana card setups.
  • A handful of innovative new boons to experiment with.

If you haven’t revisited Hades 2 since its launch, prepare for a game that feels wonderfully different. Plus, the roadmap on the main menu has been updated to give players an exciting glimpse into the game’s future. Supergiant has promised that the next update won’t take as long to arrive and is set for early next year.
