Alone In The Dark 2 Creeps Into PlayStation Classics
The survival horror classic Alone in the Dark 2, first released on the original PlayStation in 1996, looks likely to join the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalogue. Recently spotted on PlayStation Store listings for both PS4 and PS5 by PS Deals, a site known for tracking updates on PlayStation’s backend, the game’s inclusion suggests a new way for players to revisit this eerie adventure, as reported by Gematsu.
Originally released as a follow-up to Alone in the Dark, the sequel continues Edward Carnby’s journey in 1923, as he faces sinister forces lurking within the eerie mansion, Derceto. The PlayStation Store description teases players with the haunting premise:
“The sequel to the critically acclaimed Alone in the Dark, this new adventure sees our hero, Edward Carnby, in 1923 confronting the many faces of evil in the darkness of Derceto, a house in which entering is the easy part and leaving could be hell!”

Leaks regarding Alone in the Dark titles on PlayStation Plus aren’t new. Earlier this year, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare was added to the Classics Catalogue, following a similar hint from the store’s backend. However, not all news has been positive for the series. Publisher Embracer Group announced in June that it was shutting down Pieces Interactive—the studio behind a recent Alone in the Dark reboot—after the game’s March release fell short of sales expectations.
