The end of the year means a celebration of App Store games courtesy of Apple. The iOS and iPhone makers are honouring the best in apps and gaming with its App Store Awards 2024, featuring 45 App Store Award finalists across 12 different categories.

Among the games-centric side of things are HoYoverse’s sci-fi action game Zenless Zone Zero, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and roguelike cardgame Balatro. These games are nominated for the iPhone Game of the Year, iPad Game of the Year, and Apple Arcade Game of the Year respectively. New to the awards is the Apple Vision Pro category, dedicated to VR gaming for the iOS.

Mac Game Of the Year Finalists

Frostpunk 2, for expanding on the city-building genre.
Stray, for capturing both mystery and playfulness in its dark world.

App Vision Pro Game of the Year Finalists
