The cast includes Steve Agee as Economos, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana, Anya Chalotra as Circe, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sean Gunn as GI Robot & Weasel, David Harbour as Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, Indira Varma as The Bride, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

The Creature Commandos series will begin the new DCU or DC Universe, with the upcoming Superman movie in July 2025 set to be the first live-action movie. You can read more about the rest of the planned movies and TV shows in the DCU by heading over here.

Also, head on over here for our breakdown of the latest Superman movie trailer.

We Delve Into Frankenstein’s Backstory

After fighting the Bride for the first time years ago, Frankenstein was saved by a blind Gypsy woman.

However, he kills Bogdana at the end of the episode to avoid her from feeling alone.

Dr. Macpherson Died And Was Replaced By Clayface, Who Makes His DCU Debut

This is significant because there is a Clayface movie in the works with a release date of 11 September 2026.

Clayface is one of Batman’s most iconic villains. His most famous origin is as a washed-up actor who turns to crime after he becomes a grotesque monster with shapeshifting abilities. However, despite having been around for decades, Clayface has never been in a live-action movie.

Clayface is voiced by Alan Tudyk, who also voices Doctor Phosphorus and Will Magnus.

The Intentions Of The Creature Commandos Is Discovered By Alexi, Captain Of The Amethyst Knights

So, Doctor Phosphorus kills him with blood and gore.

Clayface Breaking Rick Flag Sr.’s Back Across The Knee Is A Reference To The Iconic Knightfall Comic, Where Bane Did The Same To Batman

It’s a funny easter egg, for sure. It was also previously adapted in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises (2012), which is why it will look familiar to many.

They eventually defeat Clayface with Frankenstein electrocuting him near the end of the episode.

Rick Flag Sr. Dies?

Rick Flag Sr. apparently dies after getting wounded badly in the fight against Clayface. However, he must have just fallen unconscious because he’s set to appear in future live-action DCU films and properties.

He also tells Frankenstein to tell the Bride the ‘truth’, whatever the ‘truth’ is supposed to be.

The episode ends with Princess Ilana Rostovic ordering her Amethyst Knights to hunt down the Creature Commandos.

Until the next episode, excelsior!
