Hideki Kamiya Finally Teases A Long-Awaited Sequel

After months of silence, Capcom and Hideki Kamiya and his new studio Clovers gave a little teaser regarding the highly anticipated Okami Sequel.

The announcement came as a stunning surprise during The Game Awards, marking the first true follow-up to the iconic 2006 game after almost two decades of silence. While fans got a taste of Okami’s world with the DS spin-off Okamiden and a few HD remasters, Okami 2 is the real deal. And yes, it’s a proper sequel — not just a spiritual one.

Hideki Kamiya, the mastermind behind the original Okami, is returning to direct the sequel with his new studio. If you’ve been worried about a shift in style, don’t be: the game is being built on the same stunning RE Engine used in Capcom’s recent hits, ensuring Okami 2 retains the gorgeous visuals and gameplay that made the original so memorable.
