Marvel Rivals Devs Tease Switch 2 Port—If It’s Powerful Enough
NetEase, the studio behind Marvel Rivals, is open to bringing the game to Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2—if the hardware can handle it.
The hero shooter has made waves on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, but a potential Switch version was always off the table due to the first-gen console’s, let’s say, “enthusiastic but underpowered” nature. However, with Nintendo’s next system looming, the conversation has shifted.

Speaking at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu confirmed that NetEase is already tinkering with Switch 2 dev kits. Wu told IGN:
“We’re in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits. If we can get great performance on the Switch 2, we’re open to it. The reason we skipped the original Switch? It just couldn’t deliver the experience we wanted.”

Nintendo has kept tight-lipped about the Switch 2’s lineup, only confirming a new Mario Kart during its reveal. Meanwhile, third-party developers are playing coy, teasing support for “Nintendo’s next platform” without naming specifics.
More details on the Switch 2 will be unveiled in a Nintendo Direct set for early April. Until then, Marvel Rivals fans can cross their fingers—and hope Nintendo’s next-gen hardware packs enough punch.
