SEGA’s Steam Sale Goes Super Sonic For Golden Week
Every year, Japan takes a well-earned breather with a national holiday stretch known as Golden Week — a time for rest, relaxation, and, apparently, ridiculous discounts on video games. SEGA has officially opened the floodgates for its annual Golden Week Sale on Steam, which means one thing: your wallet’s about to be held hostage by your Steam wishlist.
Leading the charge is Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth — or as I like to call it, “Yakuza Goes to Hawaii”, where Ichiban and Kiryu decide to bring fists and fatherly trauma to paradise. It’s currently 20% off, or 25% off if you’re feeling fancy and spring for the Deluxe Edition. Nothing says tropical getaway like turn-based brawls and karaoke in a Hawaiian shirt.

Elsewhere, Sonic X Shadow Generations is already speeding towards your library with a neat 30% off, which is frankly more shadow than Sonic — but hey, it’s still a bargain. Fancy a mental workout? Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is also in the mix, for those who want to play both puzzle games at once like some sort of caffeine-addled genius.
And if you’re a fan of brooding teenagers summoning monsters from their subconscious, ATLUS has you sorted. The Persona series is practically being given away — Persona 5 Royal is slashed by 60%, while Persona 3 Reload is sitting at a cool 50% off. Meanwhile, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance joins the fray, promising post-apocalyptic Pokémon vibes for less.
All of this madness is running until 8 May 2025 (GMT+8), so whether you’re dodging real-life responsibilities or just looking to stockpile more games you’ll never finish, now’s the time to strike. Head to SEGA’s official Golden Week page before your self-control vanishes faster than Sonic on Red Bull.
