The System Shock 2 Remaster Will Be Out This Thursday For PC; Find Out When The Other Ports Are Coming Out
Good news, immersive game fans. The forefather of the immersive sim genre System Shock 2 is getting a 25th anniversary remaster, and it’s slated for this 26 June. That’s this Thursday!
Bad news: if you plan on playing it on other consoles, you may have to wait a while. Developer Nightdive Studio is delaying the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions of System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. The ports of this remastered first-person classic will be out in the first two weeks of July.
We have encountered issues that have prevented us from launching System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster on consoles, including Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation, on June 26 as originally intended.
We’re currently working to address these issues as quickly as possible.
Because of this, we’ve made the difficult decision to proceed with the game’s release on PC platforms (Steam, GOG, Epic, Humble) on June 26, with the console release now targeting the first two weeks of July.
We’ll update everyone as soon as we have a set launch date for consoles.
In the meantime, you can go get the game this week via PC (Steam), Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble Store.
