This year’s Anime Expo 2025 (4-6 July PST in Los Angeles), is packed full of new anime announcements be it new seasons of old shows airing later in 2025 or 2026, or brand-new projects. Here’s a collection of our favourites:

 

Fist of the North Star Reboot

Slated for 2026, and looks like it’s using CGI and giving us that Berserk 2016 energy. Not a good start, in other words.

David is dead, but Night City lives on. In production, so we’re looking at a 2027 release window?

A new scifi film from Yasuomi Umetsu (Kite, Mezzo Forte). No Uncut Edition has been announced yet; IYKYK.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm

Hiromu Arakawa of Fullmetal Alchemist fame will have his recent manga series turned into an anime. No release date yet.

 

Baan

Anime reviewer and content creator @GiggukAZ is making an anime called Baan.

Anime content creator Garnt “Gigguk” Maneetapho is making an isekai anime series with director Yoshimitsu Ohashi and musician Kevin Penkin called Baan.

Stop-motion anime series just published a new trailer during AX 2025 week. Show will be out on 24 July on Netflix.

 

Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc

New trailer and them song called IRIS OUT. Out on 19 September in Japan, 29 October in other regions.

 

Resident Evil: Survival Unit

A new mobile strategy game by Capcom set in the Resident Evil universe.

 

Guilty Gear Strive

Arc System Works’ collab work with CD Projekt Red in bringing in Lucy (Cyberpunk Edgerunners) as a fighting game character will be out in trailer form next month during EVO 2025 (1st-3rd August PST).
