Gnaw Is A 2D Prehistoric Metroidvania Featuring A Red Dinosaur

2026 is getting yet another new indie metroidvania. This one features a big red dinosaur.

The upcoming title is called GNAW and it’s a pre-apocalyptic metroidvania and side-scroller action title. You fight mammals and crabs as you figure out what’s causing the sky to rain meat meteors in the city. Yes, in this universe, dinosaurs live in cities not unlike ours.

“GNAW combines strong and dynamic combat encounters reminiscent of classic ’90s mainstays with a lore-rich world full of societal unrest. This deinonychus will traverse seven different regions, each with its own distinct landscapes and platforming challenges, while fending off feral critters and vengeful scientific experiments.”
