The PlayStation 5 remake of the original The Last of Us, a game that came out in 2013 mind you, is coming soon in 2022.

According to industry insider Tom Henderson, the remake will be out in the second half of 2022. The project isn’t officially announced yet, but it has been mentioned by dozens of insiders and sources, with PlayStation’s Visual Arts Service Group being its early developer before switching to a support role.

Naughty Dog is also reportedly working on a standalone multiplayer title and a The Last of Us Part 2 Director’s Cut. The standalone title could be the cut multiplayer mode that was initially for TLOU 2. Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann did say a few days ago at CES 2022 that the company is working on multiple game projects.

Naughty Dog hasn’t made a peep since the release month of The Last of Us Part 2 in terms of new game announcements, most likely to take a PR break following many people’s passionate thoughts about the controversial sequel.
