Sony Teases Breakthrough AI Project With Gran Turismo Developer

Sony AI and Gran Turismo 7 developer Polyphony Digital have teased (via Twitter) that they will announce a “breakthrough project in AI” on 9 February 2022.

However, the teaser trailer is a bit too short and vague to have any significant meaning, but many are saying that it might have something to do with that project from last year where they were teaching AI how to drive properly.

We’ll have to wait and see what this AI project will be tomorrow, and whether or not it will be implemented in any games in the future. As of now, we can only speculate. Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 7 is slated to release for the PS4 and PS5 on 4 March 2022. Perhaps the announcement will ultimately relate to the upcoming game too.
