Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart Wins Big At The DICE Awards 2022

At the 25th DICE Awards 2022, Hazelight Studios’ It Takes Two wins Game Of The Year, but it’s actually PS5 exclusive Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart that was the biggest winner of the show.

Besides Game Of The Year, It Takes Two also won the Outstanding Achievement in Game Design award. Meanwhile, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart won Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, Outstanding Technical Achievement, and Family Game of the Year.

There were 23 categories in total, and several games, including Halo Infinite, Lone Echo II, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and Returnal, all won multiple awards. The show also gave awards to NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon, who won the 2022 AIAS Hall of Fame inductee, and Microsoft’s Phil Spencer, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 2022 DICE Awards took place live at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas and it was co-hosted for the sixth year by Jessica Chobot and Greg Miller.

You can check out my 4000-word spoiler-free review of Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart here.
