Twitch Partners Can Now Stream On Other Platforms Too

Earlier today, Twitch published an update to its Partner program. According to the newly-updated FAQ, Twitch Partners can now stream on other platforms, albeit with a caveat. They can stream simulcast on platforms like TikTok and Instagram but not “Twitch-like” services like YouTube and Facebook.

The full statement reads:

We do not allow simulcasting on web-based, Twitch-like services that support streaming for extended periods of time, such as YouTube and Facebook, because we believe engaging with two streams at once can lead to a sub-optimal experience for your community. However, we know many of you want to use other services to grow your community, so simulcasting on short form, mobile services, such as TikTok or Instagram Live, is allowed.

Despite there still being restrictions, at least Twitch Partners can now expand their horizons and try out other platforms. For instance, TikTok alone could be huge in increasing a Twitch Partner’s viewers, considering how popular the platform currently is amongst younger users.
