Xbox Is Upgrading & Redesigning Its UI

Xbox has announced that they’re finally upgrading, updating and redesigning their UI on consoles like the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. However, the first to experience these will be limited to a random subset of Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring.

Microsoft is planning the launch the completely new UI sometime in 2023.

Ivy Krislov, senior product manager lead of Xbox experiences, said:

“We want to ensure this experience is the best it can be, and we know getting it right will take some time which is why we will be rolling it out slowly and iterating throughout the process,” explains Krislov. “With your input, we’re looking forward to launching this new, better Home experience in 2023.”

According to the blog post, the initial key updates include the following:

  • The new “Jump back in” row gives you quick access to your most recently played games and apps.
  • Easily access important system apps like Settings, Store, Search and My Games & Apps with their own dedicated tiles on Xbox Home.
  • Consistent design and visual identifiers with updated layouts to keep the experience familiar.
  • When you scroll down, you’ll see curated categories and recommendations tailored to your gaming preferences.

It’s been a while since Xbox has updated its UI so this is good news for Xbox players.
