Overwatch 2 Servers Are Down Following Mass DDoS Attacks

With Overwatch 1 gone, a sequel takes its place. And right now, it’s available, though not without some hiccups.

According to Blizzard president Mike Ybarra and game lead Aaron Keller, the Overwatch 2 servers have been hit by “mass” distributed denial of service attacks (DDoS) one after the other on the title’s launch day. The company is doing its best to resolve issues preventing players from accessing the game.

“Teams are working hard on server issues with Overwatch 2. We are humbled by the excitement of players and will continue to focus on issues and get players into the fun! Thanks for your patience.

Unfortunately we are experiencing a mass DDoS attack on our servers. eams are working hard to mitigate/manage. This is causing a lot of drop/connection issues.”

Overwatch 2 is available right now for PC, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. Assuming you can get online right now, that is. The game will have seasonal updates every nine weeks and a battle pass including heroes, game modes, maps, and cosmetics.
