Destiny 2’s Infamously Bugged Weapon Is Now Getting The Spotlight This Season
Destiny 2’s Telesto Fusion Rifle is renowned to be a buggy weapon. However, the latest one may be intentional.
For context, Destiny 2’s Telesto is infamous for breaking the game, ranging from deleting bosses through walls to crashing a player’s game when approaching the Tower’s gunsmith. There are videos of this documenting the phenomenon as well as a website that tracks how long it’s been since the fusion rifle has gone unbugged.
Destiny 2’s latest patch may have given Telesto a unique bug and possibly a new mystery for people to solve. See, the gun now fires coded patterns into the sky while smoking and sparking as you charge the rifle up for a shot. According to Forbes writer Paul Tassi, you will need to hold the reload button to have it firing normally again. Plus the shots are arranged as constellations.
TELESTO is sparking, smoking and shooting out what I believe could be coded patterns into the sky
you have to hold reload to literally smack it to get it firing normally again
no, this is not your average Telesto bug. Get to work… pic.twitter.com/vOy9NNtdJW

This new Telesto bug may be a key to solving a Destiny 2 community mystery. See, there’s an emblem called Schrodinger’s Gun which was found in the game’s files and there’s the current Destiny 2 Season Of Plunder where you rebuild the Eliksni Quarter by donating materials and currency, which may be tied to the Telesto’s constellation shots. Or maybe not and we’ll have to wait until Bungie launches another update (probably on December), which would hopefully be a puzzle involving this weird “bug”. Until then, the crackpot theories from the community will keep a-coming.
