The Top Final Fantasy Characters In The Series’ 35th Anniversary May Surprise You
Square Enix has posted the results of its Final Fantasy 35th Anniversary best character poll, and it seems that the influence of Final Fantasy XIV has run deep.
FFXIV is considered to be everybody’s favourite Final Fantasy for the past few years and is arguably the game that saved Square Enix from going in the red, so much so that a number of its characters have dominated the top 10 in the favourite character poll. Yes, three Final Fantasy XIV characters have made it in the top 10: Emet-Selch, G’raha Tia, and Haurchefant.
FFX’s Wakka is at second place, though this could be the result of a homophobic meme that’s been going around this year. Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith are in the top spots though this isn’t surprising given FFVII’s popularity. Zidane from FF9 is at 5th place while Vivi is at 8th place. FFX’s Tidus is in 9th place.
Here’s the full top 20 list from top to bottom:
Fans of Final Fantasy XIII -all 13 of you- should be pleased that Lightning is in 14th place. In any case, FFXIV is clearly the de facto Final Fantasy in all corners of the world, and it makes sense for FFXIV’s producer Naoki Yoshida to take the reins over FFXVI.
