Live A Live Comes To PlayStation & PC Next Month

Square Enix has announced that LIVE A LIVE is coming to the PS4, PS5 and PC via Steam on 27 April 2023.

Additionally, digital pre-orders and a free playable demo is available from the PlayStation Store and Steam. In the LIVE A LIVE demo, players will be able to play the opening sections of three of the eight stories in the game: The Wild West, Twilight of Edo Japan, and The Distant Future.

It originally launched for the SNES back in 1994 and for Nintendo Switch in 2022. Seven stories featuring seven time periods, protagonists, and gameplay variations—in what order you progress and how you proceed is up to you. Featuring character designs by acclaimed manga artists Gosho Aoyama, Osamu Ishiwata, Yoshinori Kobayashi, Kazuhiko Shimamoto, Yumi Tamura, Yoshihide Fujiwara, and Ryouji Minagawa.

Also including new works by Octopath Traveler’s Naoki Ikushima, and majestic rearrangements carried out under the supervision of the original composer, Yoko Shimomura. The original director, Takashi Tokita, has returned as a producer to oversee development in its entirety. With impactful moments preserved and gameplay refined for a modern audience, this re-imagination promises an unforgettable experience not only for fans of the original but first-time players as well.
