New Star Wars Series, The Acolyte, Set To Be The Second Series Hitting Disney+ In 2024

During Star Wars Celebration 2023 in London, The Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland confirmed that the upcoming TV series will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar sometime in 2024.

The Acolyte stars Amandla Stenberg (Bodies Bodies Bodies), Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers), Dafne Keen (Logan), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix).

It’s confirmed that Joonas Suotamo will play a Wookie Jedi, while Lee Jung-jae will play a Jedi Master. Other details were not revealed.

The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.
